Lucid Motors is seeking a Hardware Technician / 3D Print Technician to join our Special Tooling department. In this role, you will operate and maintain 3D printing equipment while supporting the development of our in-house prototyping capabilities.

You will manage requests from engineers to fabricate parts, providing DFAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing) feedback and guidance on material and process selection. Responsibilities will also include post-processing and finishing of printed parts. The workload will range from producing one-off prototypes to small-volume production runs.

Beyond additive manufacturing, the Hardware Technician / 3D Print Technician will also contribute to the build, assembly, and packaging of other mechanical special tooling, as well as support the operation of other equipment within the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain 3D printing equipment.
  • Provide DFAM feedback and recommend materials and processes.
  • Perform post-processing and finishing of printed parts.
  • Support small-volume production runs.
  • Assist with assembly and packaging of mechanical special tooling.
  • Support additional group equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or related fields preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience operating 3D printing equipment in a professional capacity (or demonstrated experience with 3D printing).
  • Good understanding of material selection, differences, process suitability, and performance trade-offs.
  • Strong DFAM competency to provide feedback and guidance to the engineering team.
  • Knowledge and experience with post-processing and finishing techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD systems, preferably 3DX (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar).
  • Proficient working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard office software.
Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.   Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)Base Pay Range (hourly)$34$47 USD
