Position Summary
Provides strategic leadership and actuarial oversight for Aetna’s Individual Medicare Part D business by coordinating bid development and submission processes, providing guidance on business and product strategies, and collaborating with stakeholders to align financial goals with business objectives. Ensures Medicare Part D bids are actuarially sound, drives process development and improvements, and contributes to strategic planning and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the bid development aspects of Medicare Part D programs, including population change, product design strategy, legislative and regulatory changes, and financial reporting.
- Ensures compliance with bid submission requirements, legislative requirements, and other financial regulations.
- Leads department in performing actuarial evaluations specific to Medicare Part D programs by analyzing various scenarios and assessing the financial implications of changes in enrollment, trends, program and/or new product ideas and expansions.
- Leads actuarial analysis of Medicare Part D market trends and competitor strategies and landscape; oversee projections of the National Average Bid and Base Beneficiary Premium to guide pricing and premium projections.
- Advises management on potential business and financial risks, such as changes in reimbursement policies or regulatory requirements, and develops strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships across cross-functional teams to ensure program alignment, drive collaboration, and achieve targeted outcomes.
- Develops training and development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team by identifying talent needs, creating job descriptions, and interviewing and onboarding new team members.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years total business experience
- ASA or FSA
- Adept at collaboration and teamwork; ability to frame communications to target audience
Preferred Qualifications
- Adept at execution and delivery skills
- Adept at business intelligence
- Mastery of problem solving and decision making skills
Education
- ASA or FSA
- Bachelor’s Degree
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$175,100.00 - $334,750.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
