This is an exciting opportunity to join the Raytheon team as an Associate Director for the Japan Patriot Programs Portfolio within the Asia Pacific Patriot Organization.  In this role, you will be responsible for planning and implementing an execution strategy which aligns to the Japan Program vision for support to Japan, which is focused on, but not limited to, a dynamic set of projects and procurements that support our Japanese customers.

Japan Patriot consists of Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) contracts that span both Japanese government and Japanese industry partners. You will ensure compliance with all external customer reporting requirements from a program management standpoint while also meeting the reporting needs of the Asia Pacific Patriot Programs Director. You will also be expected to work closely with, and influence, Japan Central Facility (JCF), Functional support, Patriot Product Line and other business areas. You will work closely with the Program Office team, Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and key stakeholders to ensure timely and effective support of customer deliverables and urgent requests.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for financial, schedule, and technical performance of the program.
  • Multidisciplinary team leadership, strategy development, internal and external program reviews, program execution assessments through direct customer engagement, proposal preparation, supplier management, program management status reporting, and generation of work authorizations (IOTs), statements of work (SOWs), and specifications.
  • Coordination and development of Gate reviews from strategy through program closure (Gates A – F) ensuring alignment with the Japan Growth Strategy and contract execution
  • Establish priorities, optimize performance and execution across all contracts; actively manage risk mitigation, cost savings and schedule mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the day-to-day customer interface for detailed status and technical performance.
  • Develop program-enhancing partnerships with internal functional organizations but not limited to Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Procurement/Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Quality Management, Logistics, and administrative functions
  • Establish and maintain key program metrics, define program milestones/critical path, and monitor adherence to program budgets and schedules
  • Develop and lead a team of direct and indirect reports. Focus, evaluate, motivate, and reward the program team, enabling them to achieve desired results
  • Act as empowered authority to accomplish program objectives
  • Lead and/or support new and sustaining business activities to include proposals, ARs and strategic planning with a focus on optimization, affordability and continuous production
  • Expected to support domestic and international travel as needed

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum 12 years of relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and minimum 10 years of experience is required
  • Leadership experience managing risk, cost, quality, and schedule for programs with domestic and international customers
  • Experience establishing and executing a long-term strategy partnering with customers and internal stakeholders to execute that strategy

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Program Management Level 3 Certification (or equivalent) or ability to achieve within 12 months
  • Experience with quick turn proposals as the proposal manager
  • Ability to monitor, interact and maintain execution synergy and focus for multiple technical teams to support customer goals
  • IMS and EVMS implementation and execution, to include meeting EAC requirements
  • Strong financial management acumen to maintain effective EAC management for a highly flexible, fast paced flight test schedule

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
