Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Executive Underwriter to join our Cyber & Professional Liability team. This role is critical to managing and growing a sophisticated portfolio of cyber and professional liability accounts, driving new business strategy, and mentoring junior underwriters. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership, client engagement skills, and a passion for challenging the status quo to enhance underwriting practices
What You Need To Know:
- Underwriting a diverse and complex book of cyber & professional liability, including both renewals and new business opportunities.
- Develop and execute strategies to drive profitable growth and expand market presence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and insureds, including delivering high-impact presentations and representing the company in client meetings.
- Provide leadership within the team by mentoring and coaching junior underwriters, sharing expertise, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Drive process improvements, challenge existing practices, and collaborate on ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness on systems, guidelines, training, reports, new project requests, product amendments etc.
- Identify the need for an manage special underwriting projects as needed.
- Achieve and exceed budget targets while maintaining profitability and underwriting integrity.
- Keep abreast of developments in assigned territories to determine their effect on current accounts and potential new business opportunities.
What we are looking for
- Minimum 7 years of Financial Lines experience managing a large and diverse book of business from multiple brokers
- Risk analysis and technical skills
- Post-Secondary Education OR equivalent industry education and experience
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines following company guidelines as well as in a team-oriented approach to accomplish goals
- Organized, highly motivated, self-starter who takes responsibility for own performance and demonstrates leadership in their approach to work, training and knowledge seeking.
- Strong analysis and decision-making skills
- The candidate will possess a strong drive to succeed
