What are we looking for?
As a Biomedical Engineering Manager, you will spearhead the technical operations of a forward-thinking clinical engineering service. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the life cycle management of various medical devices, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards. Acts as a direct point of contact for clinical staff and equipment users, offering specialized technical insight and guidance on asset management across diverse medical equipment throughout their life spans. This role demands extensive technical proficiency and the capacity to operate autonomously in both technical and administrative capacity.
Additionally, accountable for directly supervising and leading a team of four engineers, including oversight of performance appraisals, workshop schedules, and On-Call rotations.
Support the Head of Clinical Engineering and serve as a deputy when required, contributing to strategic decision-making, and ensuring smooth departmental operations

What will your duties include?
- Develop and implement equipment lifecycle management strategies, including technology standardization, PAQ implementation, replacement planning and disposal.
- Manage preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the safe and reliable operation of medical equipment and maintain comprehensive records of equipment maintenance, inspections, and compliance activities in line with QMS.
- Lead and direct line manage a team of clinical engineers providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Use data analytics to track equipment performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions for equipment management and maintenance.
- Collaborate with clinical departments, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration.
- Identify areas for improvement in equipment management processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and safety.
What we need from you?
- Proven experience in clinical engineering or a similar role within the healthcare industry essential
- Strong understanding of medical equipment life cycle management, regulatory compliance, and industry standards essential
- Experience of working with engineering databases and ERP databases is essential.
- Knowledge of the safe operation and techniques used within a maintenance environment is essential.
- Familiarity with healthcare technology, including medical imaging systems, diagnostic equipment, and therapeutic devices is essential
