Your Role

The Central Underwriting Team is responsible to ensure that we write profitable business while supporting growth. For this team, we are looking for a Pricing/Underwriting Actuary reporting into the Chief Underwriting Officer of Swiss Life Global Solutions. The role is based in Luxembourg.

Key aspects of this role include:

• Pricing and underwriting of Life & Health contracts written through Swiss Life International and review of large and complex offers
• Support review and development of technical basis across Europe in order to push underwriting accuracy
• Proactively support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business
• Assist the Central Underwriting Team to maintain and ensure compliance with the underwriting guidelines and processes both at local and group level
• Coordinate with local underwriting committee and with internal and external reinsurance and ongoing process improvement
• Assist Business and Operations in actuarial / underwriting related issues and inquiries
• Participate in the steering and monitoring of the portfolio to achieve the financial targets.

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in actuarial sciences; alternatively university degree in mathematics, physics or similar with relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in  Life & Health in European Group business
• Experience in pricing group Life & Health is an advantage
• Experience in performing experience analysis, ability to perform multivariate analysis considered an advantage
• Fluent in English
• Self-driven individual with strong analytical and conceptual skills and ability to understand different perspectives
• Ability to work independently and take initiatives.
