Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.
Job Summary
As a Materials Supervisor, you will oversee daily materials management operations, including production control, inventory control, shipping, and receiving of materials. This role is responsible for supervising a team, ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of Defense regulations, KBR policies, and industry best practices. You will use your expertise to establish priorities, solve complex issues, and enhance processes, while maintaining accurate records in the Company’s ERP systems. The Materials Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring that materials operations run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with contractual and organizational requirements.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Supervise materials operations including production control, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and storage of materials.
- Oversee inspection of incoming and outgoing materials to verify part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, and condition of items.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all requested, received, shipped, and issued items.
- Administer customs clearance processes in coordination with U.S. Military and host nation authorities.
- Manage requisitions and maintain visibility of materials processed through Company ERP systems and U.S. Department of Defense-supported supply chains.
- Provide direction and guidance to team members, setting priorities and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Utilize specialized knowledge to solve complex materials management issues and develop process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and quality management standards.
- Collaborate with program management, procurement, logistics, and quality teams to support mission requirements.
- Prepare and maintain records, logs, and reports in ERP systems (CostPoint and/or GCCS-Army preferred).
- Mentor and coach less experienced staff to build team capability.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and 7+ years of experience in materials management, production control, inventory control, or related field. A High School Diploma or equivalent with an additional 4 years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience in materials or property operations.
- Strong knowledge of materials handling, inventory control, and logistics best practices.
- Experience working with ERP systems; CostPoint experience a plus (GCCS-Army also preferred).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid light vehicle driver’s license (minimum 6 months validity)
- Advanced in English proficiency: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English at an advanced level.
- Fluency in Romanian and possessing an unrestricted right to work and reside in Romania.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Prior experience working in a U.S. Government contracting environment.
- Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense logistics and materials management procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams in dynamic environments.
