We are looking for someone who will be responsible for:
- Partnering with stakeholders in the provision of financial insights and guidance into the operational and general decision-making and debates.
- Monitoring and coaching behaviours that ensure a service culture which builds rewarding relationships, proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client service.
- Coordinating the budget preparation and manage the process throughout the budget period in accordance with guidelines and assumptions.
- Monitoring and reporting variance analysis to support decision making and guiding management in taking corrective action on budget variances.
- Proactively recording, interrogating and managing costs with associated drivers in the production, analysis and use of information for decision-making in the business.
- Understanding and clearly articulating accounting principles, and planning and applying relevant principles to accurately record, adjust and reconcile financial transactions and events.
- Maintaining appropriate supporting documentation according to professional financial accounting and reporting standards.
- Apply analytical- and accounting skillset to build sound business cases.
- Utilize analytical expertise and financial accounting knowledge to enable data driven project prioritization.
- Preparing and reporting on the business's strategic objectives, operations and financial conditions.
- Managing nav» reporting systems for management, project or performance reporting and implementing optimal processes to deliver management information according to the reporting cycle, within stipulated timelines.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to accounting and reporting processes.
- Managing and monitoring the applications and effectiveness of the business's financial information systems. Managing the interrelationships between various systems, data and other resources to ensure effective project planning and delivery.
- Reviewing and preparing tax returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax legislation and regulation; provide advice and solutions to business tax matters.
- Participating and contributing to a development culture where information regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas are actively shared.
- Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent and culture of team to ensure ongoing innovation, efficiencies, increased competencies and optimal utilisation of available resources.
- Manage own development to increase own competencies
