We are seeking a highly strategic leader to lead part our Games Strategy team. This team is responsible for shaping the high-level Games strategy for our games business, identifying and incubating new business opportunities, evaluating build/buy/partner scenarios, spearheading M&A and partnerships, and ensuring alignment and coordination with the broader Netflix organization. 

You will oversee a team of strategy professionals, working closely with stakeholders across Games Studios, Product & Tech, Finance, Analytics, and corporate functions to define where we play and how we win in the rapidly evolving games landscape. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, business development, and cross-company alignment, playing a pivotal part in advancing our long-term game objectives.

This is a senior role that requires exceptional strategic thinking, a proven ability to drive high-impact initiatives, and the influence to operate effectively across highly matrixed, cross-functional environments. You will thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous setting, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, and be energized by the challenge of shaping the future of gaming at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and Develop a High-Impact Team

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a talented team of strategy professionals.
  • Ensure your team operates as a trusted partner, deeply embedded in workflows and proactively driving outcomes.

Games Strategy

  • Play a key role in shaping game's strategy, including defining long-term objectives and determining where to play and how to win.
  • Work cross-functionally to define an investment plan and strategic roadmap to pursue and execute on long-term strategy.
  • Play a key role in driving the macro thought-leadership during long-range planning.
  • Identify and build business cases for opportunities, securing buy-in from key stakeholders throughout the process.

Strategic Project Incubation

  • Mobilize the team against the company’s biggest strategic opportunities through project/program management, business case development, and financial modeling.
  • Oversee the incubation of new initiatives, ensuring robust business and economic model analysis.

Corporate Alignment & Support

  • Ensure alignment and coordination with broader company initiatives, including Board communications, Corporate Development, Ads, and other cross-organizational efforts.
  • Support M&A and partnership analysis to drive strategic growth.

Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Direct ongoing market and competitive analysis to uncover trends and inform strategic decisions.
  • Translate insights into clear, prioritized actions that maximize value creation across the games portfolio.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, business planning, corporate development, or related fields within gaming, entertainment, or technology. Gaming experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven success leading high-performing, analytically driven teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience conducting quantitative analyses (including modeling) and qualitative analyses that can drive insights and results.
  • Excellent proficiency with Excel / PowerPoint (and ideally their Google Suite counterparts)
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate complex data & analysis concisely.
  • Strong communication and influence skills, with a track record of collaborating effectively across functions.
  • Highly intellectually curious, has the courage to challenge the status quo, and exhibits the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics.
  • Passion for games and a deep understanding of the evolving gaming landscape.
  • Strong passion for Netflix IP and the entertainment industry at large.
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature, preferably in Business, Economics, or Statistics.
  • MBA and/or management consulting experience strongly preferred.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $220,000 - $610,000.
