The Accounting Assistant III provides business services support to the WCOB Technology Center and to other units throughout the college. Reporting to the Walton College Accounting Center with a dotted line to the Senior Director of Operations, job duties include handling end to end contract processes for the college; procurement processes; tracking data for reporting and other needs; making travel-related arrangements and processing expense reports and providing operational support. This role ensures efficient operations by facilitating the timely execution of contracts, procurement, invoicing, and travel arrangements, and other business operation functions.Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position requires on-site engagement.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- The formal education of a high school diploma
- At least one year of specialized training or experience in business management or a related field
Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.
- Proficiency in using financial and administrative software, such as Workday Financial, or comparable systems
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least one year of University of Arkansas Workday experience processing financial transactions
- At least one year of processing business transactions in a higher education environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Knowledge and application of customer service techniques
- Ability to interact with co-workers, vendors and other stakeholders in a professional manner
- Ability to apply policies and procedures and other applicable regulations associated with assigned department or program
- Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
