Summary Of The Role

As the HR Manager, you will play a key role in strengthening HR foundations across the organization and enhancing efficiency through strategic leadership, regional collaboration, and deep expertise in core HR areas, while being an integral member of the Jotun MENA management team.

Established in 2008, Jotun MENA serves as Jotun’s business development arm, operating across more than 15 countries in the region through local sales offices and distributorships. Covering four segments – Decorative Paints, Marine, Protective, and Powder Coatings – the Jotun MENA team of over 35 employees supports markets including Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Nigeria, Tanzania, Senegal, and Ghana.

This position will be based in Dubai, reporting to the General Manager – Jotun MENA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HR function by applying Jotun’s Leadership tools to coach, guide, and develop employees, ensuring a competent, engaged, and future-ready workforce.
  • Oversee all HR activities across the company, including recruitment, compensation and benefits, mobility, labour law/relations, organisational design, and leadership development.
  • Implement and maintain HR policies and processes, ensuring alignment with Group and Regional standards while adapting local policies to comply with legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive HR strategy and ensure initiatives support and enhance overall business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, governmental, and HSEQ requirements across HR practices.
  • Shape the company culture by ensuring HR practices are strategically aligned, fit-for-purpose, and supportive of long-term organisational development.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER

What we look for 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 5+ years of independent responsibility in a strategic HR role.
  • Experience managing HR functions across African and/or emerging markets, with willingness to travel regionally.
  • Proven track record in developing, localizing, and implementing HR policies aligned with local regulations.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and/or French is an added advantage.
