A Day In The Life

In this unique role, you will be responsible for the deployment, commissioning, and maintenance of our Care Systems (PCS) portfolio in hospitals and medical practices. This portfolio includes both hardware devices—such as the Medtronic Smart Sync Device Manager (our tablet-based solution for wireless interrogation and programming of pacemakers, defibrillators, and cardiac rhythm recorders) and patient transmitter solutions (MyCareLink and Relay bedside transmitters, as well as the MyCareLinkHeart App)—as well as web-based services for remote monitoring and follow-up of cardiac devices, including Medtronic CareLink, CareLink Express, FocusOn, BeConnected, Discovery Link, Triage HF, and Mainspring.

You will report to the Technical Consultant Manager for Belgium & Luxembourg. This role requires you to travel at least 40% of the time throughout Belgium.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • You support our CRM (cardiac rhythm management) field teams and our international IT deployment team with the technical introduction, commissioning, and maintenance of the PCS products, according to the local business plan
  • You actively contact the relevant contact persons on site in hospitals and practices, discuss the requirements for implementation and organize their implementation through to the final commissioning. In addition, you will support the users during operation, with software updates and troubleshooting
  • Initially, you will focus on the delivery of our deployment targets for the SmartSync Device Manager across your geography. Building on your deployment and maintenance experience, you will be able to evolve into a technical subject matter expert for PCS products and services and act as single point of contact for our field teams. Over time, you will have the opportunity to participate in market development efforts and manage specific project to increase adoption of our PCS portfolio, acting as internal/external advocate for the PCS value propositions
  • The position is home office-based and requires frequent field work on site at the users (about 60%)

Required Knowledge And Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Networks, or a related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT networks
  • Solid technical background, preferably in IT
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, with strong working knowledge of French
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure; enjoys independent project management and excels at self-managing time and priorities
  • Professional experience in a similar field, such as application specialist, product technician, IT hardware support, or IT consultancy; experience in the healthcare or MedTech sector is preferred

We value candidates with a Master's degree in IT networks or Engineering.
