Summary:

The Asset Based Lending (“ABL”) Senior Vice President Relationship & Portfolio Manager Team Lead directs a team of 4 - 6 ABL Relationship and Portfolio Managers within the ABL Portfolio Management function. This position ensures that the ABL Portfolio Team:  (i) properly documents and services the ABL loan portfolio, (ii) manages all aspects of the ongoing client relationship including cross sales or in conjunction with internal relationship partners, (iii) reviews clients’ financial status on a timely basis, and (iv) coordinates with the Manager of ABL Operations and Field Exam to ensure that collateral is appropriately analyzed and verified all with the goal of protecting the Bank’s assets and preventing losses. 

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Structures a portfolio team that meets objectives, develops and manages the client relationship strategy including cross-sale activities for accounts solely managed by the ABL Group
  • Fosters active dialogue and collaboration, including portfolio and credit management, for client relationships jointly managed with internal geographic and industry partners
  • Responsible for all aspects of the entire team’s relationship and portfolio management 
  • Works closely with the ABL Manager of Portfolio and the ABL Group’s senior partners in creating, updating, and implementing policies and procedures and ensures the Team’s adherence 
  • Cultivates an environment that in-stills sound credit monitoring
  • Manages the team’s coordination with the ABL Group’s business development, underwriting, field exam and operations teams
  • Oversees and reviews the team’s loan documentation negotiations, credit actions, facility restructures, and monthly and quarterly portfolio reviews 
  • Hires direct reports and provides extensive mentoring, coaching, and training for ABL Relationship and Portfolio Managers
  • Prepares or reviews all direct reports client requests, including annual reviews, amendments, modifications. and waivers 
  • Prepares or reviews risk ratings for accounts and the team’s recommendations for changes in risk rating 
  • Attends client visits and participate in client conference calls
  • Participates and contributes to the team’s bi-weekly and quarterly portfolio meetings and reporting activities
  • Monitors the team’s overall metrics including timeliness of annual reviews and collateral ticklers and triggers
  • Assigns new clients to Relationship & Portfolio Managers and manages workload capacity
  • Provides the necessary leadership and guidance in order to develop direct reports within the ABL Relationship & Portfolio Management function
  • Plans and formulates account retention, modification, and  exit strategy
  • Performs other duties as identified and assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Management experience of four or more direct reports at any time
  • 10+ years of ABL and/or workout related experience including underwriting and relationship and portfolio management
  • Bachelor's Degree

Other Relevant Qualifications And Experience:

  • Field examination experience
  • Master’s Degree or advanced certification in a discipline directly related to the position (MBA, MS, MA, JD, CPA, CFA, ASA or other advanced discipline)
  • Operations experience with Asset Based Lending systems such as Solifi (Stucky), ABLSoft, CSI, Loan Watch, and other relevant bank and ABL related software systems

Compensation Range:

$125,000 - $255,000 Annual Salary

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
