Position Summary

The Medical Director, under the supervision of the program director, must help to ensure that the didactic instruction and the supervised clinical experiences meet the current standards of medical practice and support the mission, vision and values of the program and Le Moyne College. The medical director is an advocate for the PA program in the Syracuse community and beyond and helps to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of the program overall.

Principal Duties And Essential Functions

Job duties specific to this position:

  • Advocate for the PA program in the regional medical community
  • Participate actively in the program ongoing self-study and the accreditation progress
  • Teach in areas of expertise
  • Assist in establishing and cultivating relationships with community partners and across the state and country
  • Mentor and advise students as appropriate
  • Serve on department committees
  • Participate in admissions process
  • Participate in the review of student competencies to be achieved at graduation, providing feedback on community standards and trends for Physician Assistants in medical practice
  • Active member of NYSSPA and AAPA

  • Performs a variety of related duties as assigned.
  • Currently or previously licensed PA or osteopathic or allopathic physician
  • Currently or previously board certified
  • Documented record of academic and/or professional leadership
  • Five years of clinical practice experience
  • Pay Range:  $20,000 annually
