Job Summary

Join our dynamic Short Term Markets Sales Team, which serves a diverse client base including asset managers, hedge funds, corporations, insurance companies, and dealers. This strategic role is crucial due to the high volume of business and the bank's focus on secured funding products. As a Sales Desk Intern you will support senior sales members in their daily activities, ensuring efficient and compliant transaction execution across all secured funding and money markets products in various currencies. This role is ideal for a graduate who is eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced financial environment and is mathematically minded. 

Key Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

Daily Tasks:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of economic and financial data affecting marketed products
  • Assist in the pricing and booking of transactions
  • Provide timely market updates
  • Handle client queries by coordinating with credit, trading, and back-office teams
  • Support pre and post-trade processes including term sheets, confirmations, and communication with Middle Office and Back Office Teams.

Control:

  • Help ensure clients are appropriately classified under FCA rules and transactions comply with legal, compliance, credit, and back-office requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining trading within set time limits and ensure ethical execution of client transactions.

Communication:

  • Network within the business to generate opportunities for the Global Markets Division.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss marketing strategies and share ideas.

Reporting:

  • Report directly to the Head of Secured Funding and Money Market Sales UK.
  • Prepare various sales reports for management, including monthly accounts activity reports detailing volumes and business.
