Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Product Manager to join our Digital team within a leading insurance organization. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of digital products, leading a team of Product Owners to deliver high-quality, customer-centric solutions across our digital ecosystem.
This is a pivotal role requiring a balance of strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on product management. You will work closely with IT, business stakeholders, and external development vendors to ensure the successful delivery and evolution of digital products that drive customer value and business growth. As such the Senior Product Manager, will be play an important role in the future Digital strategy and delivery of products that support Lockton’s Digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Portfolio Management
- Own and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a portfolio of digital insurance products (e.g. Customer portals, quote and bind portals, data capture tools)
- Ensure alignment with broader business and digital strategies.
- Prioritise product initiatives based on business value, customer needs, technical feasibility, and strategic alignment.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Product Owners, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and client focus.
- Oversee backlog management, sprint planning, and delivery timelines across the team.
- Drive best practices in product discovery, delivery, and performance measurement.
- Work in partnership with the PMO team to deliver implementation plans and manage budgets
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key point of contact for senior business leaders and stakeholders.
- Translate business goals into digital product outcomes; manage expectations and influence priorities.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between product, data, IT, operations and PMO
Vendor & Delivery Management
- Manage relationships with third-party development vendors to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.
- Coordinate development efforts, including integration with legacy and modern systems.
- Facilitate contract negotiation, SOW co-ordination and budget tracking with performance reporting for external partners.
Customer Focus & Insight
- Champion client needs through data, research, and insight.
- Ensure products meet regulatory and compliance requirements, as well as delivering exceptional user experiences.
- Monitor product performance and customer satisfaction metrics to inform continuous improvement.
Governance & Reporting
- Report on product performance, delivery progress, risks, and key KPIs to senior leadership.
- Ensure transparency across all initiatives in the product portfolio.
- Participate in budget planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Maintains regular reporting with support from PMO and manages budget per project
- Co-ordinate launch activities and manage business adoption process
Candidate Profile
Required:
- Proven experience in digital product management, with extensive experience in a senior or leadership capacity.
- Background in insurance or other regulated industries.
- Experience managing and coaching Product Owners or cross-functional agile teams.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies, product lifecycle management, and digital delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple products and stakeholders in a complex enterprise environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working with external development partners or off-shore teams.
- Knowledge of relevant insurance regulations and digital compliance standards.
