To accommodate the continuous growth of its cruise managed fleet with the next generation vessels, Wilhelmsen Ship Management Norway (WSM) is seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional to join our team as a Hydrogen Superintendent.

The WSM cruise managed fleet is expanding with new and highly advanced vessels owned by the most reputable and growing cruise company in its segment. Our clients' next-generation vessels will come equipped with a hydrogen plant and fuel cells in addition to main engines. 

  • The Hydrogen Superintendent will support the Cruise Fleet and have the technical responsibility within a ship groups hydrogen development and operation
  • The Hydrogen Superintendent reports to the Fleet Manager as appropriate.


In matters related to assigned vessels, the Hydrogen Superintendent also interrelates with Ship staff and other internal and external support functions. Owner, class society, insurance handlers and other external bodies.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement procedures for hydrogen operations.
  • Create work instructions and planned maintenance schedules for hydrogen plants and fuel cells.
  • Contribute with design and maintain a crew competence and training matrix for H2.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for hydrogen operations within the fleet and with third parties.
  • Oversee WSM’s role in hydrogen bunkering operations.
  • Ensure compliance with ISM code, flag state, port state, and industry regulations.
  • Support vessels in maintaining safe, incident-free operations aligned with WSM and client KPIs.
  • Foster a safe, clean, and organized working environment.

What We Are Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree, preferably with seagoing experience as a Cruise LNG Engineer or as a process engineer with relevant office experience.
  • Experience with fuel cell technology is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
