Chief Design Engineer, Connectivity

• Chief Design Engineer, Connectivity (SW) 
• to work in Ponsse Technology, R&D team in Finland.

In this role you will be the product owner for connectivity related scrum team. You will ​manage backlog, prioritize tasks and write specifications for backlog items​. You will ensure that the scrum team understands targets and organizes sprint planning and refinements​. You will evaluate the implementation quality and technical readiness according to set requirements.

Your responsibilities within the Scrum framework will include connectivity functionality. Your work requires understanding of cyber security regulations, the Machine Directive and related functional safety standards.​ You will work in an Agile environment and continuously refine priorities, define milestones and deliverables​. Additionally, you will collaborate and communicate with stakeholders and customers across the organization in line with Ponsse's values​. 

Required qualifications in this role:​ 

• Bachelors`s or Master´s degree in automation, software engineering or a related field. ​ 
• Relevant experience in engineering roles, preferable in field of non-road mobile machines , connectivity or edge computing.​ 
• Deep technical knowledge of software engineering​ and understanding of the software development life cycle process.​ 
• Strong leadership and management skills are essential – ability to motivate teams to achieve project goals​. 
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written in English and Finnish​. 

Considered To Be An Advantage:

• Understanding of modern programming languages and development frameworks. 

• Understanding Of Linux.

• C++, Python and Rust programming languages. 
• Containerization, Virtualization and DigitalTwin principles. 

As a person, you can lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams & external partners and troubleshoot and resolve system issues effectively. You are proactive, technically skilled and take initiative. You have strong problem-solving skills and work effectively in a diverse team and see solutions rather than problems. ​

You will be part of the Ponsse’s Technology, R&D team, reporting to Engineering Manager, Application, Reporting & Connectivity.  

Your working location will be in Finland Kajaani, Tampere, Kuopio or Vieremä, but we are working hybrid model. Some amount of travelling will be required in this role.
