Data Engineer

Tygart is currently seeking an experienced Data Engineer to provide direct support to a Department of Justice (DoJ) customer. The ideal candidate will support a combination of program management, IT, and intelligence functions for the following units: National Strategic Partnership and Coordination Unit Executive Liaison, Strategy, and Communications Unit Information Sharing and Analysis Unit

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update information within the Private Sector Portal (PSP) tool, utilizing automation where appropriate.
• Collaborate with the relationship management team to identify and document technical requirements related to the PSP system.
• Develop and implement guidance for the appropriate use of the PSP system and enforce consistent data standards across the enterprise.
• Provide technical support and customer service to both headquarters and field users.
• Oversee the PSP system's content, auditing for missing or inappropriate metadata, and escalate technical issues as necessary.
• Ensure the efficient scheduling, processing, and documentation of data delivery and implementation, leveraging automation when feasible.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering)
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a data engineering or data analytics role Strong scripting skills in one or more languages: Python, R, Perl, Bash
• Advanced proficiency with SQL
• Experience with business intelligence/visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Microsoft Power BI Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap/Reactstrap, and JavaScript frameworks such as React Experience with data warehousing technologies
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in technical writing and editing using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
