We're seeking Disability Support Workers for our Day Services, Your Supports, Getaways programs, and Supported Independent Living (SIL) at The Bridge with immediate work available (following onboarding procedures).
About The Role:

The main objective of our Casual Support Workers is to provide high quality supports to participants in a variety of activities in the community and at home, whilst promoting independence and inclusion in the community, and our services include Day Services, Your Supports, Getaways and Supported Independent Living (SIL). Our services operate in the South-Eastern and Northern suburbs of Melbourne.
We would like to support our students who have recently completed placement with a pathway into ongoing employment! If you have recently completed a student placement with us, please feel free to submit your resume and express interest in a casual support worker role.
What our Support Workers need to come onboard:
All of our staff members at The Bridge will share our commitment to upholding dignity, independence and empowerment when supporting people with disabilities.
Selection Criteria for the role is as follows:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability or a social service/health related course (minimum)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Working With Children’s Check (desirable)
- Ability to work with a broad cross section of people with varying degrees of support requirements and behaviours of concern
- The ability to promote independence, and encourage participants in pursuit of achieving their individualised goals
- Flexibility and adaptability
- A well-developed ability to problem solve, think creatively and ‘outside of the box’
- Demonstrated ability to comply with safety processes and procedures
- Ability to remain calm and seek appropriate support and guidance when required
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Sound computer skills in MS Office, and using mobile applications, as well as experience using Client Management Systems
- Ability to build rapport with a range of individuals, from participants, to families to other staff and leadership
- Current and valid Victorian driver’s licence
- Comprehensive car insurance is essential for our Your Supports services as driving participants in your vehicle is required.
