As the Team Leader, you play a pivotal role in leading a team of educators to successfully deliver team goals. To implement a culture of shared learning responsibilities. To collaborate with the co-team leader and to assist the Studio (Room) Leader in all tasks necessary to deliver a high-quality education within the multi-age environment.
As the Team Leader at Aurora Rowville, you will:
- ensure that the mission and philosophy of the centre is fulfilled by delivering high quality service to all stakeholders.
- understand and implement all the policies, procedures and routines in the room; report any non-compliant issues to the centre coordinator and make recommendations to resolve them
- to complete Studio Leader responsibilities when the Studio Leader is away from the room.
- to assist in the critical reflection of children’s learning and development both as individuals and in groups by planning, documenting and evaluating learning experiences.
- to assist in establishing the program for the room including routines that are organised in ways that maximise each child’s involvement and engagement in learning.
- to ensure all educators are engaging in interactions with each child that are consistently warm, responsive and trusting that promote children’s sense of security and belonging.
- work in accordance with food safety regulations
- assist, implement & ensure that relevant Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) outcomes are achieved
- responsible to ensure children are effectively supervised at all times and educators are attuned to the needs of all the children to ensure each child’s safety and wellbeing
- to demonstrate a high level of collaboration and challenge and support the educators directly reporting to you.
- to ensure professional standards are embedded in practice, interactions and relationships within the room to promote positive relationships and a safe predictable environment for children, educators and families
- ensure a safe and hygienic environment is maintained for both staff and children at all times, undertake cleaning and other duties as required
- to attend all necessary meetings and events organized by management
- work closely with the parents, discuss relevant issues with them and ensure that you assist in maintaining a high retention rate of parents in your rooms
- maintain mindfulness practices within the room including interactions, mentoring and self-reflection
- ensure that records, checklist, etc. are maintained accurately
- follow & deliver the Standards of the National Quality Standards, Law and Regulations

You'Ll Need:
- a "we can do this" attitude
- a positive personality that is open and reflective
- successfully completed Bachelors, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent
- a minimum of 3 years experience as an Early Childhood Educator
- experience working in an Exceeding centre
- experience leading a team would be favorable
- demonstrated knowledge of the Children’s Services industry, Children’s Services current Act and regulations, National Early Childhood Development Strategy, Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) and other relevant documents
- current National Police Check no more than 6 months old.
- current Working with Children Check
- current First Aid and CPR certification
- current Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification
