This is an exciting opportunity to grow sales for our Gates and Screens ranges across New Zealand!

We are seeking an experienced, solutions-focused sales professional to grow sales of our Gates and Screens solutions across New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on working with customers to solve technical challenges and who can translate customer needs into commercially successful outcomes.

This standalone, remote-based role offers the autonomy to drive growth in New Zealand, with full support from AWMA’s Australian team. It will suit a motivated professional who excels in consultative, solution-based sales.

This role will be worked remotely primarily ‘work from home’ with travel within NZ & visits to Australian head office. 

The Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Lead with Solutions: Engage with customers to understand their challenges and design tailored solutions that deliver technical, operational, and commercial value.
  • Sales Strategy & execution: Contribute to the development and execution of sales strategies aligned to AWMA’s goals in New Zealand.
  • Consultative sales: Understand customer requirements, identify challenges, and explain technical solutions clearly and persuasively, ensuring solutions are both feasible and aligned to customer ROI and long-term needs.
  • Proposals & negotiations: Prepare and review technical documentation and proposals to ensure accurate pricing and clear communication; negotiate to achieve positive commercial outcomes.
  • Business Development: Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities to expand the company's footprint in the water management sector. This includes outreach to water-related project consultants and leveraging existing industry networks.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, acting as a trusted advisor and maintaining ongoing communication.
  • Market insight: Track industry trends and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Closing Deals: Demonstrate the value of our solutions, ensuring that you successfully close deals and contribute to business growth.
  • Travel: Travel across both north and south islands to meet customers (1-week a month), attend industry events, and build a strong presence in the market.

A key trait for this role will be self-motivation — the ability to independently manage and prioritise tasks to achieve sales targets while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.

About You:

You will be an accomplished professional sales person with at least 5+ years of experience in technical sales through consultative selling. You’ll bring:

  • A proven track record in sales, ideally within the water management or technical solutions industry. Experience is a must for this role
  • Demonstrated success in shaping, presenting and closing complex technical solutions to customers in a clear, engaging, and customer-focused way.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently, manage your own pipeline and consistently achieve targets
  • A solid understanding of technical solutions and customer requirements.
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce experience is an advantage).advantageous.
