The South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service based in Bunbury which provides a variety of health services to Aboriginal people in the South West, Great South, Upper wheatbelt and Peel Regions of Western Australia. SWAMS delivers a wide range of Services including: GP Clinics, Primary Health Care, Counselling, NDIS and community host various programs. SWAMS has a strong growth strategy through partnership opportunities and future community development.
The SWAMS is dedicated to enhancing employment opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This position is designated under Section 50 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), and as such, only Aboriginal people are eligible to apply.
About The Role:
SWAMS is looking for a Marketing Officer for three days a week who will have the opportunity to create, design, and develop marketing materials and communication initiatives for the Communications Team. Maybe you are creative but haven been given the chance to work within a creative role. This could be your opportunity. These efforts are promoted both within the organisation and to a targeted community audience. Duties for this role include:
- Assist with the development of, writing and editing marketing campaign materials for initiatives and programs, including but not limited to printed media, media releases, digital media, publications and social media initiatives.
- Assist with promotional activities when required.
- Develop marketing material for specific programs, services, marketing and communications functions.
- Proactively promote communication, both internally and externally.
- Liaise with printers and other external suppliers.
- Update the website and social media platforms when requested and under the approval of the SWAMS Communications Coordinator and Manager Executive Services.
- Manage and facilitate photography at programs, services and events.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills.
- Experience in graphic design or similar field.
- Ability to use a range of software packages, particularly Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, online social, digital and CMS Platforms and other creative suites
- Knowledge and understanding of the underlying health issues that impact on the Aboriginal community.
