Role Overview
As a member of Cloud Operations team at Signant Health, the Cloud Operations Engineer will collaborate with development, release, and application teams to install, configure, deploy and manage infrastructure, application components and services in customer environments to ensure they are highly available, scalable and sustainable. You will also work with Apps Integration and the DevOps teams to identify and resolve issues and improve the overall Support Process.
Key Accountabilities/Decision Making & Influence
• Automation for tasks like deployment of servers and application software across environment, alerts via scripting.
• Troubleshoot to identify root cause and work towards faster work-arounds and resolution of reported issues
• Quickly & effectively utilize existing tools and utilities to improve troubleshooting process in the long run
• Ensure the stability and availability of Application operation components running on Public Clouds.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to support production environments and shift work.
• Control infrastructure costs by continually looking for opportunities to right-size servers and services
• Migrate on-premises workloads to the cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Respond to alerts of application instability, identifying root cause and corrective actions.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Proven track record of ownership and accountability in managing and troubleshooting complex, multi-layered environments in AWS and Microsoft Azure, with the ability to handle multiple overlapping priorities and tight deadlines effectively.
• 5+ years of experience (3 years minimum) in a modern software development environment that embraces Agile methodologies and incorporates DevOps practices.
• Extensive hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven, Git, BitBucket, and TFS, with a focus on driving automation and efficiency.
• Advanced expertise in cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, with strong proficiency in Python, Terraform, and PowerShell for infrastructure automation and scripting.
• Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, as well as configuration management using tools like Ansible.
• Demonstrated experience in Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality software.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux and Windows server operating systems, as well as expertise in web server technologies including IIS, Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, and Apache Web Server.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, or MySQL, with the ability to optimize and troubleshoot database performance.
• Proven ability to independently identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues in high-pressure environments, while maintaining a focus on delivering results.
• Experience in setting up, configuring, and managing monitoring systems, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of potential issues.
• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across functional areas, provide backup support, and foster effective working relationships.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
Certification
• It is good to have Azure Administrator Associate certification.
• It is good to have AWS SYSOPS Administrator certification.
• added advantage of having CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) certification
• Added advantages of having Terraform Associate certification.
