Job Summary
The Sr. Manager, Sales Commissions & Incentivization is a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing sales compensation plans, short-term incentives, quotas, and territory alignment. This role partners closely with Commercial Leadership, Finance, HR, and Sales Operations to ensure compensation structures drive desired behaviors, support fair and achievable quotas, and deliver measurable ROI. The Sr. Manager acts as the primary advisor on all incentive-related matters, provides ongoing analysis and insights, owns territory planning and alignment, and ensures that sales teams understand how plans and territories impact their performance and earnings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
• Design, implement, and optimize annual sales compensation plans, spiffs, promotional incentives, quotas, and territories to drive business objectives and fair, achievable performance opportunities.
• Analyze business performance, market benchmarks, historical sales data, and rep capacity to recommend adjustments to quotas, incentive plans, and territory assignments.
• Own territory planning and alignment, ensuring equitable, strategically balanced territories that support growth, new product launches, and changing market conditions.
• Serve as the primary strategic partner to Commercial Leadership on all incentive, quota, and territory matters.
• Partner with Sales Leadership and Sales Ops to pull and analyze Salesforce and other data for informed decision-making.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics to measure effectiveness, ROI, and performance impact of compensation programs, quotas, and incentives.
• Advise Finance and HR to ensure plans are cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with total rewards strategy.
• Work with sales managers and representatives to ensure understanding of compensation plans, quotas, territories, and incentive mechanics.
• Maintain governance processes, audit-ready documentation, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with the Commissions Manager to ensure seamless execution of compensation plans.
• Identify process improvements, recommend system enhancements, and build scalable frameworks to support organizational growth.
• Mentor and guide analysts or team members as the function expands.
• Serve as the thought leader and subject matter expert on sales compensation strategy and incentive management best practices.
• Support change management efforts, including plan communications, training sessions, and manager enablement.
• Embody and deliver the “Exceptional Everyday” in all work and interactions.

☒ Master’s degree preferred
