Job Summary & Objectives

The Business Analyst will be responsible for the elicitation, analysis and documentation of business and technical requirements across multiple business units within the Firm and will be responsible for supporting the broader IT team through all stages of the delivery lifecycle. The individual will have proven ability to communicate technical and business requirements alike and possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.  The BA will be expected to take responsibility for analysis activities across multiple projects and initiatives concurrently, predominantly working as the solo BA but in some instances supporting more Senior BA’s on larger projects. Initiatives will cover the implementation of new, and changes to existing, internally and externally managed solutions.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, document and prioritize business & technical needs
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to elicit user requirements
  • Document Epics, Features, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, BRD’s for functional requirements
  • Document non-functional requirements
  • Document and design current state and future state processes
  • Perform gap analysis between current state and future state processes and solutions, anticipating requirements and uncovering areas for improvement
  • Supports the end-to-end delivery lifecycle through Dev, QA and UAT
  • Work closely with other IT teams including infrastructure, PMO, product, dev, QA and training

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Formal BA certification beneficial but not required

Skills And Experience

  • Candidate must be a self-starter and have excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of technical and non-technical subject matter experts
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels in an organization.
  • Must possess excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work across a variety of concurrent initiatives
  • Experience in Legal Technology highly beneficial
  • Experience in Operations Technology required (E.g. HR, Business Development, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external stakeholders across a wide range of solutions
  • Possesses end-to-end implementation experience, owning requirements from conception through Development, QA, UAT and acting as an SME for the solution post implementation
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills and have an attention to detail.
  • Must be adaptable, flexible, proactive and willing to take ownership
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity
  • Strong focus on process required, with experience using MS Visio
  • 3+ years’ experience supporting software implementations, specifically in a hands-on BA role
  • Comfortable working within Agile, Waterfall and hybrid methodologies

Physical Demands (required to perform essential job functions)

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

  • Bending/Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine, or by bending legs at knees
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction

Work Environment

The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions as in typical office or administrative work (normal light, air and space in the work environment)

Salary Information

NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
