Job Opening: Principal Engineer Drug delivery Systems, Primary container

Responsibilities:

• Function as a technical team leader for the Drug Delivery Systems (DDS) group within the Therapeutics Development & Supply (TDS) organization.
• Provide technical leadership in the development and commercialization of container closure systems and drug delivery solutions for new drug products. Own the design, selection, qualification, specification, and implementation of primary container components, container closure systems, and drug delivery solutions. This for drug substance, bulk, and finished drug product in both the clinical and commercial supply chain.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new primary packaging/drug delivery system concepts for eventual production use with a customer-centered mentality.
• Provide guidance to clinical and commercial supply chain and other functions regarding primary packaging and dosing/delivery options.
• Support green packaging initiatives as required.

Requirements:

• PhD, Master's degree or equivalent experience in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Process/Packaging/Bio Engineering, Chemical Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a similar field will also be considered.
• Significant experience in the design, development, and commercialization of API, bulk product, primary and secondary packaging systems.
• Broad experience in material specifications and qualification activities on a global scale.
• Familiarity with worldwide regulations to support container development.
• Knowledge of combination product development and regulations is a plus.
• Effective communicator in a team environment.
• Ability to interact effectively with research, operations, and external suppliers and manufacturers.
• Technical leadership and ability to influence decisions.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% both domestically and internationally.
