The impact you will have in this role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal SDET to lead our testing team in delivering robust functional and regression testing across our software platforms. This role requires deep expertise in ALM tools, SQL, and hands-on experience with Python, Angular, and JavaScript. The ideal candidate will be a strategic problem solver with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for quality engineering.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of testers to implement functional and regression testing strategies.
- Ensure traceability and coverage using ALM tools.
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
- Provide technical guidance on Python, Angular, and JavaScript-based test automation.
- Leads technical processes and designs considering reliability, data integrity, maintainability, reuse, extensibility, usability, and scalability
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests across the delivery lifecycle
- Contribute to the enterprise test automation framework
- Apply programming and testing expertise to design and develop automated testing solutions and mentor team members on automation
- Implement technology-specific guidelines that are consistent with corporate standards
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of product strategy and project work.
- Support business and technical presentations in relation to technology platforms and business solutions
- Drive new technical and business process improvements
- Research and evaluate specific technologies, and applications, and contributes to the solution design
- Lead delivery team in maturing ways of working, and adopting continuous integration within the software delivery processes and provide guidance on integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipeline
- Partner with team members to understand software requirements and design automated tests that validate the functionality while considering privacy and security requirements
- Mitigates risk by following established procedures and supervising controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
- Prepare, maintain automated test scripts of the team
- Review test cases / automation approach with collaborator to ensure comprehensive coverage and acquire feedback
- Track test execution breakthroughs, report on issues and risks with the potential to affect project timelines
- Very strong analytical skills
- Ability to coordinate with multiple participants including Business users, support teams, Business analysts, research teams
- Collaborate with delivery pipeline teams to drive adoption and resolve open issues.
- Identify dependencies for environmental and data requirements; manage and maintain environment and data.
- Responsible for process compliance & associated documentation

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 9 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience
Talents Needed For Success:
- Proven experience managing or leading QA/testing teams.
- Hands-on experience with Python or Angular / JavaScript.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Hands on experience working with AWS services.
- ISTQB or equivalent certification.
- Strong hands-on experience in Selenium Java.
- Extensive experience with testing modern scripting language-based components.
- Experience in writing sophisticated SQL queries.
- Expert-level proficiency with JIRA, Microfocus ALM, Bitbucket, Git, and Jenkins
- Experience with Snowflake data warehouse or postgres are added advantages
- Experienced in Agile/Waterfall, onsite/offshore work model and coordination
- In depth knowledge of the software implementation lifecycle (specifically the testing model, methodology, and processes),
- Experience with front-end & backend testing using Java and Selenium.
- Experience with ETL testing for tolos like Talend or Informatica is an added advantage
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools testing like Power BI or AWS QuickSight is an added advantage
- Strong Experience with Database testing, ETL testing automation
- Detailed understanding of smoke testing, functional, and non-black box testing, as well as regression testing
- Preferably from Capital Market domain
