Software Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Developer to join our dynamic development team at Chubb in Blackburn. A hybrid role, this new opportunity plays a crucial role in enhancing our existing software and hardware and developing new applications that meet our customers' needs. This role is working on key national infrastructure projects, which fundamentally keep us all safe as we go about our lives.

Responsibilities:

• Software Development & Support: Join an experienced development team to enhance and support our existing software and develop innovative applications.
• Testing & Fault Finding: Conduct fault finding, testing, and witness testing for both new and existing programs to ensure high quality and performance.
• Test Plan Development: Assist in creating test plans and participate in client-witnessed testing to validate software functionality and performance.
• Collaboration & Handover: Collaborate with the installation/commissioning teams to ensure a smooth handover of released software.
• Security & Data Protection: Ensure all software developed is secure and effectively protects the personal data of our customers.
• Mentorship & Guidance: Provide guidance and insights to developers with varying experience levels as a key senior member of the team.
• Travel & Demonstrations: Be prepared to travel (within the UK/EU/US) to perform customer demonstrations or assist in delivering systems. Travel arrangements will be provided. Applicants must have a driving license, passport, and be confident in traveling alone.

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge:

Degree or significant experience in one of the following:

• Computing & IT/Software engineering
• Mathematics

The Following Skills Are Required:

• Software Development (.NET C#)
• SQL Database servers (MSSQL)

The following skills/experience are an advantage:

• Software development (C++, MVC (Web Development), Video Management Systems)
• Microsoft Windows Server Operating system
• SQL Database servers (Firebird, MySQL, SQLite)
• Security technologies (SSH, SSL, HTTPS, AES)
