Are you a delivery-focused professional who would enjoy driving progress on a high-impact national programme? The Single Scottish Estate Programme is looking for a Project Officer to help us deliver this exciting Programme.
The Property and Construction Division (PCD) within Scottish Procurement and Property Directorate (SPPD) plays a key role in transforming property management across the public sector estate. The division leads on the Single Scottish Estate (SSE) programme, which supports a more efficient approach to public sector property management, optimising costs and estate footprint, enabling the delivery of excellent public services and providing staff with great places to work. This role sits within the PMO of the SSE team within the division, which supports the delivery of the programme.
As a Project Officer, you will provide support to the SSE Programme Manager, Project Managers and workstream leads. Whilst the primary focus of the role is to support the SSE Programme, it may also include support to specific projects within the programme as well as supporting workstreams. This would typically involve providing support to the relevant Project Manager, for example, owning specific project process such as risk and benefits across the programme, creating reports or responding to programme related queries.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality PMO support across a complex programme environment, providing services to the SSE Programme Manager, Project Managers and workstream leads.
- Apply PPM expertise to develop programme and project documentation.
- Challenge and support delivery on planning, risks, issues, and change control.
- Provide project management support to projects that sit under the programme.
- Confidently use planning tools to baseline and manage milestones, supporting the Programme Manager with the Programme Plan.
- Facilitate and lead meetings with workstream leads and project leads to drive progress and resolve blockers.
- Ensure interdependencies between workstreams and projects are clear, understood and tracked.
- Support the Programme Manager to track, measure and report on benefits and savings.
- Prepare high-quality materials and support for governance and assurance groups, Ministerial meetings and stakeholder engagement.
