The AMER Operations Senior Program Manager will lead and coordinate key strategic projects for Vertiv’s AMER Operations, ensuring programs are executed efficiently and progress is closely monitored for performance. This position will focus on manufacturing & operations initiatives, including but not limited to operational excellence, end-to-end process improvement, large-scale CAPEX deployment to support long-term manufacturing capacity growth, and project management for Global Strategic Accounts (GSAs), requiring thorough project coordination across multiple factories and regions. This role provides direct visibility to senior leadership and requires the ability to translate strategy into hands-on execution across AMER manufacturing sites. The successful candidate will combine consulting-style problem solving with the rigor of operational deployment, making it an ideal next step for high-performing MBAs with experience in strategy, operations, or manufacturing transformation.
This position will be located at our Westerville, OH's office.
Responsibilities
- Develop overall program management plans for AMER Operations, including scope, schedule, staffing plan, and budget.
- Review project charter, business case, and requirements to establish the execution methodology and resource needs to successfully execute AMER programs in the allotted time frame and funding.
- Partner directly with AMER and Global Operations executives to provide updates, resolve key constraints, and align execution with Vertiv’s long-term operating model.
- Direct and coordinate activities of AMER project personnel to ensure programs progress on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Coordinate project activities across Vertiv teams, track progress, and work with executives to ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Lead cross-functional AMER workstreams spanning manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and finance to deliver measurable impact in cost, capacity, and customer delivery.
- Identify potential risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies to keep AMER projects on track.
- Apply structured consulting methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, structured problem solving, scenario planning) to complex AMER operations challenges.
- Collaborate with AMER and global cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Facilitate effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and executives across AMER and global sites.
- Establish objectives and success criteria for AMER programs in an inclusive, collaborative manner with all stakeholders.
- Drive post-program reviews and institutionalize best practices into Vertiv’s AMER and Global Operations playbook.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations, or related field AND 4–6 years of professional experience, including at least 2–3 years in management consulting, corporate strategy, or operations-focused roles. Post-MBA experience strongly preferred.
- OR equivalent experience in an AMER or Global Manufacturing program management role supporting large-scale CAPEX deployment program.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Proficient with MS Word, Project, Excel, Power Point, and other project management software and applications.]
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to build financial/operational models to support AMER manufacturing and investment decisions.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with an ability to manage multiple large-scale AMER projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams across AMER sites.
- Analytical mindset with the capability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, or Lean Management are a plus.
- Demonstrated experience driving measurable operational improvements in a North American manufacturing or industrial setting is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work across cultures and geographies, coordinating AMER programs while engaging with global stakeholders.
