Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Business Development Executive is responsible for driving sales growth and market penetration across the Northern (Perak, Kedah, Penang, Perlis) and East Coast (Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang) regions. The role focuses on managing direct accounts, ensuring product availability, and executing sales and trade marketing initiatives in alignment with FGV Delima Oil Products’ business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Growth
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets (MT & CTN) for assigned regions and product categories (Cooking Oil, Margarine, Creamer, Coconut Milk, etc.).
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand product distribution and market coverage.
- Identify new business opportunities and establish strong partnerships with key retailers and wholesalers.
- Manage sales performance across key modern trade and independent outlets.
2. Account Management
- Handle all direct accounts within the assigned territories, ensuring timely order collection, delivery coordination, and payment follow-up.
- Maintain good relationships with store owners, buyers, and outlet managers to secure prime shelf space and continuous product visibility.
- Conduct business reviews with key accounts to track performance, discuss opportunities, and address operational issues.
3. Trade Execution & Merchandising
- Work closely with the Merchandising Team to ensure planogram compliance, stock rotation, and promotional display setup.
- Implement all in-store promotions, mailers, and product launches effectively to maximize visibility and sales uplift.
- Monitor competitors’ activities, pricing, and trade promotions to provide timely feedback for business decision-making.
4. Reporting & Analysis
- Submit weekly sales reports, outlet performance updates, and market feedback to the Sales Manager.
- Analyze sales data to identify growth gaps, underperforming SKUs, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure data accuracy in all sales tracking systems and internal documentation.
5. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
- Coordinate with internal teams (Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance) to ensure smooth business operations.
- Support planning and execution of regional activities, including festive promotions (Raya, Deepavali, Chinese New Year) and clearance programs.
- Participate in periodic reviews and performance meetings with the Sales Manager and management team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in FMCG sales, preferably in food or household products.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with good analytical ability.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willing to travel frequently within assigned territories (Northern & East Coast).
- Possess own transport and a valid driving license.
