Job Roles / Responsibilities:
Responsible for smooth functioning of nuclear medicine facility. Perform and supervise Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures, maintaining highest standards of quality. Provide staffing and work assignments at the start of the shift, assessed and modified during the shift as workloads fluctuate. Serve as a resource person to resolve issues that might occur with nursing, radiology technologists, patients, hospital clinics or floors, and physicians. Ensure safe practices in the modality and promote efficient utilization of resources as well as safe operation of the equipment. Participate in quality related activities and conduct audits in the respective section.
The incumbent will be responsible to:
- Carry out nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures as and when require
- Ensure that section is manned during its operational hours and during emergencies
- Ensure proper working of all the nuclear medicine equipment and report breakdown immediately
- Ensure procedures are performed as per best practice
- Follow quality principle and safety requirements with compliance to radiation monitoring.
- Ensure teams are prepared for and participate in the departmental inspection and audits
- Prepare duty roster, manage leaves and day to day staff related issues.
- Provide proper orientation of all staff joining the section.
- Participate in ongoing as and when arranged
- Teach, train and develop trainee radiographer and junior radiographers
- Evaluate staff on the basis of their performances
- Keep abreast with the applicable institutional and departmental policies and protocols and ensure the same for staff in the section
- Participate in the development and review of departmental policies and protocols
Requirements:
The Applicant Should Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Certificate of training for handling isotopes / Nuclear Medicine.
- Certificate of training to operate PET/CT system safely. (preferable)
- 8-10 years multidisciplinary nuclear medicine facility work experience preferred.
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Excellent problem solving, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of nuclear medicine, PET/CT scan procedures and equipment operation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Urdu and English
