The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health's Ohio Pharmacy Services is recruiting for a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Franklin Medical Center (FMC)

- 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. Rotating every Saturday and Sunday
The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking a dedicated Certified Pharmacy Technician to assist in filling prescription drug and pharmaceutical supply orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role supports safe, accurate, and efficient medication management in alignment with DBH policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
💊 Accurately fill and label prescriptions, process stock requisitions, and deliver medications to patient care and ancillary areas.
🧴 Prepare IV admixtures and other sterile products using aseptic technique per USP <797> and <800> standards.
📦 Maintain adequate inventory of medications and supplies—order, receive, unpack, rotate, and store items appropriately.
🔍 Inspect stock for outdated or unusable drugs and replace as necessary to ensure patient safety.
💻 Enter and reconcile patient charges and credits in the pharmacy system with accuracy and timeliness.
📋 Maintain complete and accurate documentation, including controlled substance records, dispensing logs, and transfer reports.
🧠 Operate and troubleshoot automated dispensing equipment and barcode scanning systems.
🚚 Perform STAT deliveries to patient care units and pick up returns from nursing stations as needed.
☎️ Answer phones and assist with requests at the pharmacy window in a professional and courteous manner.
🧽 Keep pharmacy work areas, IV rooms, and equipment clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines.

This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 5 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. Rotating every Saturday and Sunday. This position is located within Franklin Medical Center at 1990 Harmon Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43223.
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
