JOB SUMMARY
UT Southwestern is actively seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Manager – Interior Design to support our Construction Project Managers in overseeing the development and implementation of interior design elements across various projects. This role is responsible for managing consultants and vendors who prepare interior furniture and finish specifications, ensuring alignment with project requirements and design standards with a focus on hospital/healthcare environments.

This role requires a licensed professional with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction management processes, architectural specifications and standards, and furniture and finish selection. A thorough understanding of hospital codes, compliance requirements, and healthcare design standards is essential. The Project Manager will coordinate with cross-functional teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure design integrity, functionality, and code compliance throughout all phases of a project.

Work Location: Trinity Towers/Dallas Campus 

Shift Requirement: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Job Duties

  • Supports the Construction Project Managers in the management of the consultants/vendors who prepare the interior furniture and finish specifications for projects.
  • Reads and review plans and contract documents related to coordination of design projects and standardization efforts.
  • Manages Architecture Engineering (AE) standardization efforts as it relates to interior furniture and finishes in drawings and master specifications.
  • Supports the Construction Project Managers for coordination with vendors including AE consultants. Performs necessary site visits to ensure adherence to design guidelines and specifications of design projects.
  • Coordinates with AE consultants all necessary design standards documentation to adhere to design guidelines and specifications on contract documents.
  • Proactively seeks to understand the needs of our vendors. Performs research, provides support, guidance, recommendation deliver the highest standards of service.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and executes continuous improvements to policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
