Responsibilities
Design, Develop, and Maintain AI Agent Systems
- Build robust, scalable, and secure AI agent frameworks and applications that automate business processes and deliver high-quality customer experiences. This includes writing high-quality code, designing systems with AI and safety in mind, and integrating with enterprise platforms like Azure AI and Microsoft 365.
Collaborate Across Teams and Products
- Work closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, researchers, and other engineers—to define, design, and ship new features for AI agents. Foster a collaborative environment to deliver unified “One Microsoft” experiences and ensure solutions meet customer security goals.
Integrate Enterprise Data and Ensure Compliance
- Connect AI agents with internal and external knowledge sources, ensuring data privacy, compliance, and responsible AI practices. Support enterprise readiness by adhering to Microsoft’s Zero Trust principles and industry regulations.
Troubleshoot, Support, and Optimize Agent Operations
- Perform on-call duties on a rotation basis to support and resolve issues in production environments. Continuously monitor agent performance, identify trends, correct mistakes, and improve efficiency through feedback and automation.
Contribute to Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with the latest AI technologies, development practices, and security standards. Participate in code reviews, contribute to process improvements, and help create a diverse and inclusive culture that encourages learning and innovation.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience with Distributed Services
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years' experience in software industry.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
