The team’s charter is to build out end to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of the team, you’ll also support long term bets and drive competitive intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition. All while enhancing transparency into Cloud Infrastructure investments, safeguarding shareholder interest.

We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager supporting our cloud product margins and strategy, defining key areas for margin expansion in the netwroking space and driving optimal execution strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial and business analysis to evaluate product performance, operational plans, and major transactions (e.g., pricing, investments, partnerships).
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support revenue, profitability, and resource allocation goals.
  • Partner with engineering and business teams to align product roadmaps with financial expectations and planning assumptions.
  • Drive long-range planning for networking investments and connectivity strategies to enable Microsoft Cloud growth.
  • Collaborate across finance, engineering, and business planning to optimize utilization, improve gross margin scale, and accelerate market share.
  • Deliver quarterly financial and operational reviews, clearly communicating results and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into clear narratives and visualizations for executive decision-making.
  • Maintain expertise in Microsoft financial systems, policies, and processes; identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate macroeconomic and geopolitical risks impacting business performance.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience applying structured analytics and Excel modeling skills, demonstrated through professional projects, certifications OR relevant work experience.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting a cloud-based business.

  • Detail-Oriented with Strategic Insight: Ability to analyze complex information and summarize findings to provide broader business context and actionable insights.
  • Adaptable in Dynamic Environments: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and uncertainty in a fast-paced, evolving business landscape.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication to convey ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Effective Prioritization: Skilled at managing multiple work streams and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative and Inclusive: Proven ability to build strong partnerships and work inclusively across diverse teams.
  • Analytical Storytelling: Expertise in synthesizing data and communicating insights to senior leaders and business partners.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
