Senior Engineering Manager, Data Discovery

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with people management, supervision/team leadership roles.
• Experience with full-stack development (e.g., front-end and back-end).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 7 years of experience in building and developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or with compute technologies.
• Experience with shared, multi-tenant infrastructure system design.
• Experience in managing and leading teams of engineers.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

Data Discovery (e.g., DataNexus, MetaRepo, etc.) enable teams to find, use, publish, manage, and govern datasets and AI artifacts used throughout Google.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. Responsibilities

• Be responsible for leading the team.
• Develop strategies in collaboration with technical leads and product management, ensuring the team executes to deliver on business requirements.
• Deliver features to meet Google's data/metadata management needs, with a focus on demands of Artificial Intelligence (AI) model training and development.
