The University of Louisville is seeking to hire a Temporary Project Manager II. The Position will team up to develop the future engineering workforce by training engineering students in order to address the growing shortage of engineering, materials science and mining/mineral processing professionals with energy and manufacturing related skills. Work will include to create a one credit hour course and an undergraduate certificate program. This course will support the existing MS degree program in Materials and Energy Science & Engineering and enabling various University of Louisville faculty and staff to provide classroom based educational experiences, exposure to industry research, multiple targeted training sessions, and participation in technical assistance and energy assessment activities. As part of this one-credit-hour course, the position will be responsible for assembling various short educational modules for various energy assessment exercises and developing new ones on the use of techno-economics with case studies on on-site generation of power, on-site generation of fuels and utilities etc.
In addition to one credit course development, the Position will work closely with PI (McGinley) and co-PI (Sunkara) to work on a certificate proposal for all undergraduate students in engineering and sciences using the existing courseware in MESE program. This certificate program will involve some hands-on experiments and exercises for undergraduate students. This position will also help PIs to develop collaboration with KCTCS to identify a pathway for educational program that could be implemented in the renewed IAC program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemical Engineering or related program with at least 2 years of experience with industrial environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
