Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Summer Principals Academy (SPA) at Teachers College, Columbia University, is seeking an experienced Program Coordinator to provide an advanced level of support for the program. The half-time position works as a part of a highly collaborative team and juggles multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. The person will possess strong administrative and communication skills and will be responsible for supporting multiple stakeholders, conducting research, data collection, and entry, and will be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently as necessary.
Job duties change with the cycles of the academic year and with the daily priorities. The expectation is that the person in this role will be able to adjust accordingly. The position reports to the Director and to the Senior Program Manager. The person in this position will be required to be flexible with their work schedule during the summertime for a duration of five weeks (early July and through early August). The schedule will be provided as far in advance as possible, but we don't anticipate any last-minute changes.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support for the academic operations, which includes processing registrations, processing/managing faculty contracts and supporting course scheduling.
- Provide assistance with the budgets and expenditure reports.
- Conduct basic research, data entry, and filing.
- Provide support for the accreditation process by compiling data and documentation
- Support recruitment efforts.
- Provide support for the program internship, which includes coordinating and monitoring internship coaches who directly supervise students in the field.
- Collaborate with the various offices across the campus.
- Coordinate with the Registrar, Admissions Office, and Financial Aid to provide excellent student experiences.
- Track project status and coordinate follow-up communication as needed.
- Ensure timely updates and responses across all project stakeholders.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of project progress and correspondence.
- Under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager, update the program website as needed.
- Maintain program and student records.
- Cultivate alumni relations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in an administrative support role.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with website management.
- Experience using the Canva platform to create promotional and social media content.
- Must be flexible to work occasional Saturdays, Sundays, and evenings as needed.
- Willingness to keep skills updated and participate in professional development as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, familiarity with education leadership programs.
- Prior experience in higher education and the academic culture.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with social media management and branded content creation (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook).
Salary Range:
$27.00 - $37.00
