Trade Labourer - Bridges

The Details:

• Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight 
• $72,807 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super (level 5)
• 76 hour fortnight
• Location: Burpengary - please note, this position will be moving to a Narangba location in the coming months. 

Join the City of Moreton Bay’s Civil Services team and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our bridge infrastructure assets. Working closely with a Crew Leader, you’ll contribute to the delivery of essential maintenance and construction services that support the safety, functionality and longevity of our bridge structures.

Your primary responsibility is to assist in the identification and repair of bridge and related infrastructure defects. Key tasks include:

• Undertaking a range of construction and maintenance labouring duties
• Supporting the delivery of bridge maintenance solutions by applying relevant skills and knowledge to identify defects and recommend appropriate repair methods
• Assisting in the diagnosis of infrastructure issues and selecting suitable materials and techniques for effective remediation
• Operating and maintaining plant, tools and personal protective equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and council safety procedures
• Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure professional and timely delivery of services
• Communicating effectively and respectfully with colleagues and the public, promoting a positive image of Council’s infrastructure maintenance efforts

About You

Ideally you will have recent experience performing labouring tasks related to bridge or civil infrastructure maintenance. We are seeking applicants who demonstrate: 

• knowledge and physical capability to perform manual tasks safely
• recent experience in a manual position
• experience maintaining timber infrastructure
• excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

In addition to these skills and experience, successful candidates must possess:

• a current truck licence (minimum MR - medium rigid)
• a Construction Induction Card
