Join the City of Moreton Bay’s Strategic Infrastructure Planning team and help shape initiatives that enhance our communities - today and into the future.

As our Senior Infrastructure Planner, you’ll deliver high-quality strategic level, long-term infrastructure network planning to achieve strategic and business outcomes across all of council’s infrastructure networks.

You will support the Strategic Infrastructure Planning team deliver complex, precinct- and strategic-level infrastructure planning initiatives, working collaboratively with internal teams and external consultants. We’ll also look to you to:

  • Ensure corporate and statutory alignment in the delivery of strategic infrastructure network planning and policy matters to drive integrated and sustainable planning outcomes.
  • Provide advice in strategic infrastructure network planning and policy matters in accordance with legislative, policy and business requirements.
  • Support the delivery of strategic infrastructure network planning projects and project teams (including external consultants) to achieve strategic and business outcomes.
  • Provide senior technical input into the development and implementation of key infrastructure policy matters relating to the planning scheme including amending the Local Government Infrastructure Plan.
  • Act as a department delegate on a variety of projects, providing a source of professional advice to key stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for a strategic infrastructure planner with deep expertise in network planning, policy development, and strategic project delivery. Bringing experience in infrastructure network solutions, planning, urban form and sustainability principles, you’ll demonstrate the ability to develop strategic infrastructure scenario analyses that incorporate these elements.

You will have key skills in: 

  • Strategic thinking: Extensive experience in leading strategic infrastructure network planning projects, providing technical direction, and shaping long-term policy and strategy across state and local government contexts.
  • Legislative Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, SEQ Regional Plan, and local planning schemes, ensuring compliance and alignment with regulatory frameworks.
  • Effective Communicator: Skilled in translating complex planning concepts into clear, actionable insights and negotiating outcomes with diverse stakeholders.

You will have a degree in Urban and Regional planning, Engineering or equivalent and a current “C” Class Driver’s licence.
