The Opportunity

The Research Fellow position is expected to make contributions to the research effort of the university and to carry out activities to maintain and develop her/his scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or centre.

The purpose of this position is to achieve the research missions set by the Department of Civil Engineering in the focused area of Structures and Materials. The Research Fellow is expected to undertake original research under the guidance and supervision of their Supervisor and/or project’s Principal Investigator, within the sub-domain of Cement and Concrete Engineering. In particular, the Research Fellow is expected to lead the development and functionalisation of next-generation magnesium-based binders tailored for carbon capture and storage (CCS) applications in cement engineering, with a focus on scaling from laboratory synthesis to pilot-scale validation. The successful applicant will also be tasked with cultivating a robust track record of publication and engaging in collaborative efforts with other academic institutions, as well as government, industry, and/or civil society stakeholders, aimed at maximising the impact of their research endeavours.

Reporting Line: The position reports to the Project’s Principal Investigator.
