  • Aboriginal Targeted Project Officer opportunity
  • Temporary full-time role to 30 June 2028 located in Greendale / Bents Basin
  • Package includes salary ($113,574 - $125,720) plus super and annual leave loading

This role is Aboriginal Targeted under GSE Rule 26 and Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply. Role is available to all candidates.

Role based on beautiful Dharawal, Dharug and Gundungurra Country’s, working alongside a team of staff in various national parks and reserves, including the recently announced Warranmadhaa National Park in south-west Sydney.

As part of the National Parks and Wildlife Service, you’ll be walking and working on Country—helping care for the land, planning and development of the park infrastructure and facilities, yarning with community, and keeping culture strong. You will be part of a solid, supportive team that values connection to Country, respects cultural knowledge, and have opportunities to work with other Aboriginal staff in the Greater Sydney region.

About the Role 
Project Officer’s are responsible for providing diverse project and contract management support services, including preparation of reports, drafting parliamentary briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining accurate data and project documentation while implementing and monitoring project plans.  This role is not just office-based, you will be out in the field, working with stakeholders, field teams and taking care of the park.

  • About You   
  • As a Project Officer you are adept at managing competing priorities and working collaboratively with inter-connected teams to provide organisation established outcomes.

In addition to your strong verbal and written communication skills, you will have proven ability to work with stakeholders to achieve project outcomes while exercising sound judgement and discretion. Your stakeholder engagement skills will be key in building community engagement and liaising within internal, interagency, and Aboriginal groups.

Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management, community development, stakeholder engagement or in a related field
  • Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, procurement and contract management.
