Disbursement Operations Director

We’re Poulin | Willey | Anastopoulo — a fast-growing trial law firm committed to delivering results for our clients. We’re looking for a strong, detail-driven operations leader to oversee our post-settlement process, ensuring that client funds are distributed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with all legal and financial standards.

This is a key leadership role that combines financial and operational management with process oversight. You’ll lead the team responsible for lien resolution, verification, petition drafting, check processing, and payouts—making sure every client receives their settlement quickly and accurately. You’ll collaborate closely with attorneys, finance, and IT to improve systems, track KPIs, and drive efficiency across the process.

What You’Ll Do

• Lead and develop the team handling all client fund distributions.
• Oversee lien resolution, verification, petition drafting, check processing, and payouts.
• Review complex settlement files and ensure compliance with firm and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor KPIs such as accuracy, turnaround time, lien reductions, and audit results.
• Partner with attorneys, finance, and IT to improve workflows, reporting, and automation.
• Conduct audits and resolve escalations to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Note: This is an operational leadership role. No legal representation or other activities constituting the practice of law will be performed in this position. As a non-lawyer, you will be supervised by a licensed attorney who has ultimate responsibility for your work product.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in settlements, finance, or legal operations.
• Proven leadership in high-volume, compliance-driven environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex processes clearly.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and relentless about accuracy.

Salary Description $90,000 - $150,000
