EY GDS FS Risk Consulting Senior Manager / Associate Director (Location: Manila, Philippines)
As part of FS Risk Consulting team, our clients look for EY’s expertise across the consulting solutions and specifically for engagements related to Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM), Digital Risk, Internal Audit, Business Process Reviews, SOX 404, Third Party Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management.
There really is no average day in this role, since every client will have multi-faceted challenges and a distinct business environment. What it means is that you’ll have an opportunity to learn and adapt to our clients’ cultures and contribute towards developing unique solutions that are tailored to individual engagements.
The opportunity
This is client-facing role in a rapidly growing financial services practice, where you’ll build client relationships with key stakeholders, including management executives for some of the most globally recognized brands. It makes this a perfect place to gain a deeper understanding of complex businesses transactions, all the while recommending solutions to some of the most pressing business challenges and process inefficiencies. You'll also team with our global professionals in multidisciplinary engagements, helping major global clients transform and sustain business performance. The team is focused on leveraging emerging technologies like GenAI, AI, Advanced Analytics to enhance various solutions being provided to the client and actively work in building multiple tools and assets for efficient and effective client delivery. Your Key Responsibilities:
Market Leadership and client management
• Executive-level skills in client relationship management and the hold conversations with senior management executives.
• Partner with onshore teams to understand client’s business & related industry issues /trends for global clients.
• Participate in go to market, create proposals and respond to RFPs, client orals etc.
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling to current clients/introduce colleagues from other service lines.
• Drive the business development process on new & existing client engagements by gathering appropriate resources, gaining access to key contacts & supervising proposal preparation.
• Identify buyers, influencers & stakeholders in existing client engagements and build strong relationships.
• Manage and lead large client pursuits to secure new business opportunities.
• Contribute to new solution development basis the industry trends and client’s problem statement
• Support multiple innovation initiatives to enhance existing solutions leveraging emerging technologies like GenAI, Advanced Analytics, etc.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple service lines, sharing your knowledge and experience to guide business decisions.
• Understand EY and its service lines. Actively encourage team members to contribute ideas.
• Travel to client locations (as required) for executive meetings, conduct workshops, knowledge sharing sessions etc. for existing and new clients.
• Build strong connections with global EY member firms' Risk consulting leaders.
• Expand the Philippines team and establish new FS Risk consulting competencies.
• Create client POVs (Points of View) and whitepapers to showcase expertise and thought leadership.
- Delivery and Team management
- • Drive project and client engagements across teams and locations, and drive standardization
- • Review engagement delivery led by Senior Managers, Managers, experienced Seniors and manage risk and expected outcomes
- • Drive the utilization of professionals to ensure optimal productivity.
- • Meet quality guidelines within the established turnaround time (or allotted budget) to drive the value for the client
- • Anticipate and identify engagement related risks and escalate issues as appropriate on a timely basis
- • Demonstrate application and solution-based approach to problem solving while executing client engagements
- • Monitor compliance to SLAs agreed with the client; design metrics to monitor performance and process visibility
- • Conduct knowledge sharing discussions & contribute to EY thought leadership.
- • Assist Partners/Directors in driving the account management agenda by focusing on high impact opportunities.
- Operational Excellence
- • Suggest ideas on improving engagement productivity and identify opportunities for improving client service.
- • Manage engagement budgets and ensure compliance with engagement plans and internal quality & risk management procedures.
- • Improve the overall delivery quality of the Philippines centre.
- • Save innovation hours through effective management and strategic initiatives.
- • Drive cost savings through the adoption of Generative AI.
- People Management
- • Display teamwork, integrity and leadership. Work with team members to set goals and responsibilities for specific engagements. Foster teamwork and innovation.
- • Utilize technology & tools to continually learn and innovate, share knowledge with team members and enhance service delivery.
- • Conduct workshops and technical training sessions for team members. Contribute to the learning & development agenda and knowledge harnessing initiatives.
- • Organize, lead, and facilitate multiple teams on complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- • Lead the hiring process to attract and retain top talent.
- • Responsible for the performance and appraisal of direct reports, including training and developing necessary skill sets to enable them to grow in their careers.
- • Mentor and coach junior team members, enabling them to meet their performance goals and successfully grow their careers.

- To qualify for the role, you must have
- • More than 15 years of a professional firm or consulting or industry experience in Financial Services Risk Consulting
- • Strong academic history (degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering or similar).
- • Professional risk certification (CIA, CISA, CISSP, CFA etc.)
- • Master’s degree in accounting or finance (e.g. CA, CPA, MBA, PGDM, etc.) preferred
- • Good knowledge and understanding of financial services and exposure to banking, insurance, and asset management.
- • Cognitive problem-solving capabilities, quick decision-making skills and ability to handle complex situations with a calm demeanour.
