Our Working Model

At Smokeball, we believe there is nothing more powerful than a community of people coming together to work on a product that they, and our clients, love. When it comes to working as a community, we see the value in both coming together and allowing our “Smokeballers” the flexibility that remote work offers. 

All Chicago employees are in the office on Wednesdays and Thursdays. While our office is open 5 days a week, we allow you to choose what works best for you on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. 

Our office is in the heart of the Loop within 10 minutes of the Metra and all “EL” trains. And, we have lots (and lots) of snacks.

The Role


We are seeking a bold, strategic, and people-focused sales leader to join Smokeball as our Vice President of Sales. Reporting directly to the President, this leader will be responsible for empowering our high-performing Sales team, overseeing Sales Enablement and SDRs, and driving operational excellence across all revenue functions. This leader will ensure scalable growth, accurate forecasting, and cross-functional alignment to help Smokeball achieve ambitious growth targets. This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL.

A Typical Day Involves

  • Setting and executing our U.S. sales strategy to drive revenue growth across new business, expansion, and partnerships.
  • Leading, developing, and inspiring a team of Sales Managers, as well as overseeing Sales Enablement and SDR teams to maximize productivity, pipeline generation, and sales effectiveness
  • Partnering with Revenue Operations to ensure accurate forecasting, territory design, compensation planning, and CRM discipline.
  • Monitoring sales KPIs, productivity, and pipeline health to inform strategy and performance goals.
  • Recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent to build a scalable sales organization with strong succession planning and career growth opportunities.
  • Collaborating closely with Marketing, Product, Finance, and Client teams to align go-to-market motions, influence pricing and packaging, and ensure a seamless client experience across acquisition and retention.
  • Driving competitive intelligence and acting as the voice of customer and market insights back into the business.
  • Championing a coaching culture that supports individual development, continuous learning, and recognition of team wins.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in sales, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success leading and scaling high-performing sales teams, ideally in SaaS or Legal Tech.
  • Experience managing managers, as well as enablement and SDR functions, in high-growth environments
  • Demonstrated success with territory design, segmentation, and forecasting accuracy.
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to translate vision into action and measurable outcomes.
  • Data-driven mindset with deep knowledge of pipeline management, productivity metrics, and forecasting.
  • High EQ, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative spirit.
