About The Role:

The Global Markets & Partnerships team is tasked with driving the geodiversity of the portfolio, both in terms of content and revenue, through targeted business development activities within specific high-growth, high-opportunity markets.

This position drives forward a wide array of business development activities, working collaboratively across teams elsewhere in Research Publishing and more broadly with Wiley, including sales, customer success, and marketing. Activities include identifying and developing new partnerships to drive content and revenue growth, and engaging key opinion leaders to deepen Wiley’s understanding of the nuanced needs of the research ecosystem and influence Wiley’s market position. This team and the position of Director is intended to be a catalyst, accelerating the expansion of Wiley’s Research business in strategically important markets. Fostering relationships, managing stakeholders, and driving forward new business projects, all fall within the responsibilities of this position.

How will you make an impact?

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including society executives, academic institutional leadership, and funding decision makers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to align market strategies with corporate objectives and related activities elsewhere in Wiley
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a highly motivated publishing lead with deep understanding of the research ecosystem and scholarly publishing industry. A “can do” attitude and deep curiosity are essential, as is the ability to lead from the front with energy and conviction, influencing colleagues and stakeholders regardless of where they sit in the organization or their seniority. The successful candidate is self-directed, meets targets and delivers results, and demonstrates success through collaboration and cooperation.

  • Specifically, we are looking for individuals with:

  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Willingness to work in a standard office environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally ca. 10-20% of the time.

Desirable:
