Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Technology Operations Support Engineer to join our dynamic Unix/Linux team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automation, scripting, and coding, enabling them to drive operational excellence and support modern infrastructure environments. You will play a key role in maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of our technology operations, leveraging both manual troubleshooting and automated solutions.
Job Requirements
• Provide technology operations support during assigned shifts, including handling incident tickets, communicating with end-users, working on problem tickets, performing proactive maintenance, and resolving critical operations issues rapidly and effectively.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated workflows for routine operational tasks such as system provisioning, patch management, backup, and recovery processes.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automation scripts (using Python, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance activities, reducing manual intervention and improving operational efficiency.
• Identify manual, repetitive tasks within operations and proactively propose, develop, and deploy automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
• Integrate automation scripts with monitoring and alerting systems to enable self-healing and auto-remediation of common incidents.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt new automation tools and frameworks to enhance operational capabilities and keep up with industry best practices.
• Perform code reviews and provide feedback on automation scripts developed by team members to ensure quality, security, and adherence to best practices.
• Champion a culture of automation-first thinking within the operations team, mentoring colleagues and promoting best practices in scripting and tool usage.
• Participate in cross-training initiatives and demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies and coding frameworks.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects for new applications, hardware, and OS lifecycle management, using coding and scripting to automate repetitive tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, sharing knowledge, code, and best practices to support team objectives and continuous improvement.
• Work shifts as required, including off-hours, weekends, or holidays.
