About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Specialist to join our finance team. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations, supporting tax planning strategies, preparing tax filings, and advising the business on tax implications of transactions. This position requires a strong understanding of local and international tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across departmentsYour Responsibilities
Tax Compliance- Coordinate with external tax advisors to prepare, review, and file corporate income tax returns, VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory filings for group entities.
- Monitor and ensure timely compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulatory deadlines across jurisdictions, leveraging external providers where appropriate.
- Liaise with external tax providers to maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation, evaluate their impact on the Group, and ensure consistent application of best practices.
- Support tax planning initiatives to optimize the company’s tax position while managing risks.
- Advise business units on tax-efficient structures for domestic and cross-border transactions.
- Assess transfer pricing arrangements and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors during tax audits, inquiries, or inspections.
- Provide documentation and support for tax authority reviews.
- Identify and mitigate potential tax risks through proactive monitoring and analysis.
- Work closely with accounting, legal, and business teams on tax-related matters.
- Support intercompany transactions, cost allocations, and shared service arrangements.
- Provide tax input on contracts, business expansions, and M&A activities.
- Preparation of group tax guidance
- Prepare tax provisions for financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Maintain tax records, reconciliations, and working papers.
Your Profile
- Degree in Taxation, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Law with a focus on tax
- Professional qualification such as Steuerberater (Tax Advisor), or working towards it, strongly preferred
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in corporate tax, ideally gained in a Big Four, reputable tax advisory firm, or multinational group
- Strong knowledge of German tax law and international tax principles (OECD guidelines, EU directives, double tax treaties)
- Experience with VAT, withholding tax, and transfer pricing compliance in Germany and cross-border contexts
- Proficiency in German and English (both written and spoken) to effectively manage group-level tax matters and liaise with international stakeholders
- Familiarity with ERP/tax reporting systems (SAP, DATEV or similar) is an advantage
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear, business-oriented way
